MONSIEUR MATTEO SORBELLINI CONQUERS BRERA INAUGURATES VIP ROOM AND LAUNCHES BRERISSIMA

On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week, Monsieur Matteo Sorbellini inaugurated the new Milan space of VIP ROOM inside ROBE ROBERTAEBASTA, the gallery store founded by Roberta Tagliavini at Via Solferino 3, in the heart of Brera. Following the official opening on February 24, a special event was held on February 28 involving press, VIP clients and industry professionals, marking the brand’s entry into Milan’s creative landscape.

The project was born from the meeting between Roberta Tagliavini, the curatorial soul of ROBE, and Monsieur Matteo Sorbellini, the creative who over the years has transformed VIP ROOM into a poetic community where fashion becomes storytelling, vision and experimentation. The synergy between the two realities naturally evolved into a dialogue between fashion, art and design — languages that have always defined the identity of both.

VIP ROOM has taken shape in a highly scenographic space, accessible from a street-facing window leading into a timeless environment. 1950s and 1980s New York inspirations intertwine with the bohemian spirit of Brera and the eclectic aesthetic of ROBE. A distinctive element is the large “Caribbean blue” room, chosen by Sorbellini as the brand’s signature color and now a recognizable feature in its communication and labels.

Inside the gallery store, among iconic furnishings and design pieces — including the famous Pratone by Gufram — fashion engaged in dialogue with art through a continuous cultural exchange. In this setting, Monsieur Sorbellini presented BRERISSIMA, a Couture à Porter collection dedicated to women and inspired by Brera’s refined and intellectual spirit.

The collection developed a language that blends archive and contemporaneity: three-dimensional floral bombers that expand the silhouette with lightness; denim embellished with crystals and pure silk scarves; unisex couture-inspired 1970s tailoring paired with sculptural “Dinosauro” trousers. The “Shibuya” shirts combined romanticism with sartorial construction, while pure silks and taffeta — signature fabrics of the Maison — were transformed into metropolitan trench coats, balloon tops and architecturally structured dresses.

Limited productions and one-of-a-kind pieces confirmed the brand’s positioning within contemporary couture, increasingly oriented toward an urban and international dimension. With this Milan debut, VIP ROOM has opened a new chapter at the heart of the fashion system, while ROBE ROBERTAEBASTA has further strengthened its identity as a curatorial space capable of hosting cross-disciplinary projects, where fashion, art and design coexist within a shared language.
