SAGIO SPRING SUMER 2027 FASHION SHOW
“REMIX: XVIII REBORN”
For Spring/Summer 2027, SAGIO continues an exploration of identity that began last season. Where Fall/Winter 2026/27 looked at the different personalities we carry and choose to show, this collection turns to a simpler question: how do we come to see ourselves?
A reflection promises recognition, but it never holds still. It shifts with light, movement, distance, perspective: the same person can look whole from one angle and fragmented from another. That instability sits at the center of the collection. No single image can ever hold a person in full. Strength and vulnerability, discipline and emotion, restraint and expression – all of it exists in us at once, more or less visible depending on the moment. Choosing how we present ourselves becomes an act of navigating that complexity: deciding what to reveal, what to protect, what to transform.
Water carries the idea further. Still, it offers the illusion of perfect clarity. In motion, the image breaks apart and reforms always adapting, never losing its essence. Within the collection, water becomes a principle of construction: the dialogue between stillness and movement, contour and dissolution, structure and flow.
Two women embody this dialogue, each from a radically different world. Marie Antoinette, living under constant observation, used clothing and silhouette to construct a public identity – dress as a language of power, even as her image remained open to interpretation and judgement. Veruschka took the opposite path: through camouflage, body paint, and staged transformation, she moved between woman, animal, landscape, sculpture, letting identity emerge through metamorphosis rather than stay fixed in one form. Marie Antoinette builds identity through spectacle; Veruschka lets it dissolve through transformation. Together, they frame the two forces at play in this collection: identity as construction, and identity as continuous movement.
These ideas move into the garments through structure meeting fluidity. Defined silhouettes are broken by draping, twisted construction, and sculptural volumes that shift with the body. Reflective surfaces and translucent layers respond to light; changing proportions let the same silhouette read differently from every angle. Some garments hold a clear contour. Others let the body dissolve into fold and reflection.
“As a designer, I feel this tension myself. Fashion pushes us to move faster, produce more, respond endlessly to what’s already been seen. But I believe our real responsibility is different: not to repeat what exists, but to protect the freedom to make something personal, something that carries real feeling, not just another familiar image.” — Alexander Sagio.
REMIX XVIII REBORN finds freedom in moving through this consciously, choosing what to reveal, conceal, and transform. Rebirth, here, is an act of recognition: the moment the different versions of the self-stop feeling like contradictions and start feeling like one continuous, evolving identity. The most powerful moment is simple; someone catches their reflection and recognises something that genuinely belongs to them.
BRAND PROFILE
Living and working in Budapest, Alexander Sagio is SAGIO’s Creative Director. Before grasping that fashion was his true calling, the Baku-born designer obtained a degree in Architecture, which obviously informed the essence -and backbone- of his future work. Fascinated with sleek lines, surprising proportions and contrasting volumes, SAGIO translated a long-standing passion for architectural shapes into his eponymous brand, which he launched in 2023, resulting in an intriguing mix of sartorial rigor and intense sensuality.
Each collection aims to strike the right balance between hard and soft, provocative and restrained, confident and delicate. His clothes are a modern reinterpretation of the power woman, which designers like Azzedine Alaïa, Thierry Mugler or Claude Montana were keen to push forward. Still, SAGIO often references the world of finer lingerie, turning the bosom into a key focal point within his collections. Sensuous, witty and charismatic, the character SAGIO has in mind may – or may not – be a female protagonist, but – in his head – gender should never be seen as an actual limitation.
SAGIO is a brand made for strong and assertive personalities, which tend to rely on their intellect as much as their sexual confidence. In that sense, the Budapest-based designer reconciles the animal part we all share with something much more subtle and sophisticated. However, constructed, complex or refined a SAGIO piece may be, it nevertheless has a vitality and energy, which single it out from the rest
.
Privileging noble materials, such as wool, silk, leather or linen, SAGIO is on the hunt for authenticity as well as true luxury, which he envisages as the intimate and personal expression of one’s character and honest desires. His clothes are playful, resolute and timeless at the same time, using atelier techniques, which rely on expert skills, as well as exquisite craftsmanship.
Inspiration comes to the designer in multiple ways, whether it be a person, a fabric, a sentence or a gesture. It could also be music -which he always listens to while designing- or something indirect that triggers his senses. There are no written rules when it comes to the process of garment-making, and no preconceived ideas either. Instinct, nature and behavior are topics SAGIO is clearly versed in, observing -and absorbing- the world around him while processing its intricacies through his own creative lens. More interested in perfecting a specific allure than yielding into seasonal trends, Alexander Sagio follows the melody of his pulsating heart, fusing an intellectual approach with playful eroticism.
SAGIO will be showcasing its collections in Paris from now on and unveil exciting new plans in the near future.
